Which pirate became an explorer, too?
Sir Francis Drake, an English sailor who grew rich and famous by robbing Spanish ships. In his ship the "Golden Hind," Drake made the second voyage round the world between 1577 and 1580. In 1588, Drake became a war hero, when he led an English fleet to fight against the invading Spanish Armada.
