Scytodes, a small black and yellow spider, found in Europe and the USA, has an unusual way of catching its prey. As an insect approaches, the spider raises its fangs and ejects two streams of gum from them, swinging its head so that the two lines of gum fall in a zigzag over the prey. Once the prey is pinned down, the spider moves in to bite and eat it.
