You see things because light rays bounce off objects and enter your eyes. The front part of your eye projects the rays on to the back of your eye, where they form an upside-down image. Here they hit nerve cells which send signals to your brain. An area at the back of your brain sorts the signals out and puts them together as the picture you see.
