Amazing But True
During digestion, food travels through about 9m (29.5ft) of pipes and tubes inside your body, a distance as long as three cars. Your small intestine alone is 4m (13ft) long. It is coiled up inside your abdomen. It is "small" only because it is just 4cm (1.5in) wide. Your large intestine is three times as wide but only 1.5m (5ft) long.
