Growing old
As people reach the age of 55-60, their bodies take longer to repair themselves. Their skin may wrinkle and their senses become less sharp. People also shrink as they get older. At the age of 75, they may be 7.6cm (3in) shorter than they were at the age of 20. This is because the discs of cartilage between their backbones shrink and shorten their spines.
