An elephant in the Kruger National Park South Africa chose its own family and now thinks it is a buffalo. It was brought to the park in the 1970s with four other elephants to live 'near a herd of buffalo. This elephant soon joined the herd and was accepted as being part of it. It was seen by park rangers drinking from a waterhole with its new buffalo 'family' and running off when a herd of elephants came near.
