The tiny Etruscan shrew has a giant appetite. An adult shrew weighs only 2 g (0.07 oz) but can eat up to three times its own weight in a day and cannot live for more than two hours without food. An adult human being would have to eat a sheep, 50 chickens, 60 large loaves and over 150 apples to match the shrew's meals.
