Rousing chorus (Communication (Animals) Facts)
Howler monkeys live high up in the tree tops in South American forests. To warn off enemies they make one of the loudest mammal sounds. Every morning and evening the monkeys sing in chorus, their throats swelling up like huge balloons. They can be heard about 8 km (5 miles) away.
