How to help
Unless human beings stop destroying habitats and polluting water, mammals such as blue whales and polar bears could become extinct by the beginning of the next century. The World Wildlife Fund was set up in 1961 to help protect the world's animals. It now has over 4,000 conservation projects in over 135 countries round the world. Groups like this and laws banning hunting or poaching have helped save some of the mammals most at risk.
