Prehistoric talk
Scientists think that, until about 40,000 years ago, people's skulls and voice boxes were not the right shape to make the sort of sounds we use today. People probably used grunts and gestures to talk to each other. The scientists did research on plaster casts they made of prehistoric skulls.
