Paraceratherium was the biggest land mammal there has ever been. It lived about 35 million years ago in Asia and Europe and was 8 m (26 ft) tall and 11 m (36 ft) long. It looked like a gigantic rhinoceros but had a long neck like a giraffe. Six people, walking side by side, could easily have passed underneath it.
