Little and large
The ancestors of today's camels lived about 10 million years ago. Unlike modern camels, they had no humps. Stenomylus was a tiny animal, only as big as a small deer. Alticamelus was about 3 m (10 ft) tall, with long legs and a long neck, like a giraffe's, for reaching leaves high up in the trees.
